Ground Beef Recalled in 6 States Over Possible E. Coli Contamination

A company based in Idaho is recalling nearly 3,000 pounds of ground beef sold in six states due to a possible E. coli contamination. The beef, sold by Mountain West Food Group, was distributed to stores in California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Pennsylvania, and Washington.
The recalled product is a 16-ounce vacuum-sealed package labeled "Forward Farms" with a use or freeze by date of 01/13/26 and the code “EST 2083” printed on the side. The issue was found during routine testing by the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), which discovered E. coli O26, a type of bacteria that can cause stomach pain, diarrhea, and vomiting. In some cases, it can lead to more serious health problems, especially in older adults or those with weakened immune systems.
At this time, no illnesses have been reported, but the USDA urges people to not eat the meat. If you have this product, throw it away or return it to where you bought it.
If you’ve already eaten the beef and feel sick, contact your doctor right away.
Food safety experts remind consumers to always cook ground beef to an internal temperature of 160°F to kill harmful bacteria.
Stay informed. Stay safe. Check your freezer.
WEIGHT LOSS
Weight-loss Pill Approval Set to Accelerate Food Industry Product Overhauls - "We Are Seeing People Cut (Back) Specifically on Salty Snacks, Liquor, Soda, Drinks, and Bakery Snacks, and More Focused on Protein and Fiber"

A new weight-loss pill is set to launch in January, and it could lead to big changes in the food industry. The pill works like Ozempic but is taken by mouth. Experts say more people may use it because it’s easier to take and may cost less than shots.
Many people taking these GLP-1 pills say they eat less. A study from Cornell found that people on the drugs spent 5% less at grocery stores and 8% less at fast-food restaurants. However, they bought more fresh fruit, yogurt, and high-protein foods.
Food companies are watching this closely. Some, like Conagra, now label frozen meals as “GLP-1 friendly.” Nestlé has launched new frozen meals made just for people on weight-loss drugs. Chipotle now has a “High Protein Menu,” and restaurants like Olive Garden are offering smaller meals.
Experts say people are cutting back on salty snacks, soda, baked goods, and alcohol. Instead, they’re choosing more protein and fiber. This may change what stores and restaurants offer.
About 40% of U.S. adults are obese. A recent poll found that 12% of adults are already taking GLP-1 drugs. With pills now available, more people may try them and stay on them longer.
The food industry is getting ready for this shift. From frozen meals to restaurant menus, expect more options that fit this new way of eating.

Two More Antibiotics Have Been Approved in the U.S. To Treat Gonorrhea

Two new pills to treat gonorrhea have been approved in the U.S. The drugs are called zoliflodacin and gepotidacin. They treat gonorrhea infections in the urethra or cervix that haven’t spread to other parts of the body.
Gonorrhea is a common sexually transmitted infection (STI). It affects about 1.5 million people in the U.S. each year. The infection is caused by a bacteria that has become hard to treat because it resists many antibiotics. Until now, most people were treated with an injection called ceftriaxone, often given with another antibiotic. But some strains of gonorrhea are becoming resistant to that too.
Zoliflodacin works by blocking a protein that the bacteria need to grow. Gepotidacin stops the bacteria from copying their DNA. In two separate studies, both pills worked as well as current treatments. Most side effects were mild and included headache and nausea.
Gonorrhea often shows symptoms in men, like pain when urinating. But women may not have any signs. This can delay treatment and lead to serious problems, like pelvic inflammatory disease or infertility. Pregnant women can also pass the infection to their babies, which can cause eye damage.
The recent studies mostly included men. Only 12% of participants in the zoliflodacin study and 8% in the gepotidacin study were women. More research is needed to know how well the drugs work for women.
Still, these new pills offer hope for treating a disease that is getting harder to cure.
Do You Have 'Ghost Poops'? Here's What That Says About Your Health

A “ghost poop” might sound strange, but it’s actually a good sign. It’s a bowel movement that leaves no marks in the toilet and nothing on the toilet paper. Doctors say this means your digestion is working well.
These poops are smooth, soft, and easy to pass. They are called Type 4 on the Bristol Stool Scale. That’s considered the “perfect poop.” You don’t need to push hard, which helps prevent problems like hemorrhoids. Also, when your poop sinks, it means your body is breaking down food the right way.
To have more ghost poops, try these tips:
Eat more fiber: The CDC says adults should get 25 to 30 grams a day. Good sources include fruits, veggies, beans, and whole grains.
Exercise often: Walking or light movement can help your bowels work better.
Know your food triggers: Some foods upset the gut. Pay attention to what bothers you.
Sleep well: Aim for 7–8 hours of sleep each night.
Lower stress: Stress can affect your gut. Try relaxing activities like deep breathing or stretching.
If you often need to wipe more than three times, it could be a sign of something else—like hemorrhoids or food issues. Talk to a doctor if it happens a lot.
In short, ghost poops aren’t scary. They’re a sign that your body is doing things right. With a few healthy habits, you might have more of them.
