A California Cheese and Dairy Company is the Source of a Decade-long Outbreak of Listeria Food Poisoning That Killed Two People and Sickened More Than Two Dozen, Federal Health Officials Say

A company in California made cheese and dairy products that caused a sickness called listeria. This sickness has been happening for ten years, and it has caused two people to die and made over 24 people sick. The company, called Rizo-Lopez Foods, is in Modesto, California. The sickness started in June 2014, and people in 11 different states got sick.

The company had to take back more than 60 types of cheese, yogurt, and sour cream. These products had different names like Tio Francisco and Don Francisco. They were sold in many stores across the country.

Before, in 2017 and 2021, people got sick from cheese, but no one knew exactly where it was coming from. In December, more people got sick, and the CDC found out it was from this company's cheese.

Listeria is really serious and can make certain people very sick or even cause death. This includes older people, pregnant women, and those who don’t have strong bodies. If you have these products at home, you should throw them away and clean your fridge and kitchen well to kill the germs. Listeria can live in the cold and spread to other food.

It's important to be careful about what we eat and make sure our food is safe. If you bought any cheese or dairy products from these brands, it’s best to not eat them and clean up to stay safe.

WEIGHT LOSS

Finally Reached My Goal Weight!

Great job on hitting your weight goal with the keto diet! Now, let's talk about how to keep your weight steady without losing more.

First, you should eat a bit more carbs than before. When you were losing weight, you ate very few carbs. Now, try eating between 50 to 70 grams a day. Good carbs to eat include berries, squash, and special crackers made from rye. These foods are healthy and won't make your blood sugar jump up.

Also, you might need to eat more food overall. Some people might need to eat up to 2,500 to 3,000 calories a day. Make your meals bigger by adding more protein and fats like in bulletproof coffee, which has special oils and butter.

Eating two big meals a day is a good plan. But now, spread out the time you eat them to about seven hours. This way, you won't lose more weight and can still enjoy the benefits of fasting without eating all day.

To sum up, eat a little more carbs and food, enjoy two big meals a day, and make sure you spread out when you eat them. This should help you keep your weight just where you want it. Good luck, and enjoy your success!

After a Heart Attack in Hospital, Chances of Survival Drop Rapidly as the Duration of CPR Increases | Chances of Surviving While Receiving CPR for a Heart Attack in Hospital Decline Rapidly From 22% After One Minute to Less Than 1% After 39 Minutes

When someone has a heart attack in a hospital and needs CPR (a way to help their heart beat again), the chances of surviving get lower the longer CPR goes on. Researchers found out that if CPR starts within the first minute, there's a 22% chance of surviving. But if it lasts 39 minutes, the chance drops to less than 1%.

This information comes from a big study that looked at almost 350,000 adults in the US who had heart attacks in hospitals from 2000 to 2021. The study helps doctors, patients, and their families know more about what to expect with CPR.

Heart attacks in hospitals are sadly not rare, and only about 25% of people survive them. The study also showed that the chance to avoid serious brain damage after CPR goes down quickly over time.

Doctors often find it hard to say exactly when to stop CPR if it's not working. But this study gives clearer information. It showed that people who didn't survive had CPR for 20 minutes on average, while those who did survive had it for about 7 minutes.

This study is important because it gives better information to make tough choices during critical moments. Every situation is different. This study helps everyone understand more about the chances of surviving a heart attack in the hospital with CPR.

Consumer Sleep-tracking Devices, Although Prevalent and Potentially Beneficial, Exhibit Proportional Bias Patterns That Could Affect Their Overall Accuracy

Have you ever wondered if those sleep trackers you wear on your wrist or put under your mattress really work? A recent study looked into this by comparing five popular sleep trackers against professional sleep studies that doctors use.

The study found that these gadgets are pretty good at telling how long you sleep. But when it comes to the details, like if you're in light sleep or deep sleep, they don't always get it right. Each tracker has its ups and downs. Some are better at guessing if you're just lightly sleeping, while others are more accurate at knowing when you're in deep sleep. However, they sometimes make mistakes, especially depending on how long you spend in each type of sleep.

So, what does this mean for adults over 45 who care about their sleep? These trackers can give you a basic idea of how you're sleeping, which is helpful. They're easy to use and less of a hassle than going to a sleep lab.

But remember, they're not perfect. They can't catch every detail of your sleep as accurately as a doctor's sleep study can. As technology gets better, so will these trackers. For now, they're a good tool for trying to improve your sleep and stay healthy. Sleep is super important for feeling good and staying sharp, so it's great to have some help tracking it.
